1. Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs.
2. Combine cocoa and food coloring, then add into the mixture.
3. Add salt, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and flour.
4. Add vinegar and baking soda. Fold into batter, do not beat. Bake for 40-45 minutes at 350.
