Celebrate Mom With a Fruit + Soy Protein Smoothie

Mother’s Day is approaching, and it’s a chance to show your mom just how much you appreciate her. Whether it means creating a handmade gift, giving her a spa day or taking over her daily tasks so she can devote time to doing something she loves, make sure she starts her day with a healthy and nutritious breakfast. We suggest adding one of our favorites to the menu: a soy milk fruit smoothie.

Just one-half cup of soy milk provides about 3.5 grams of protein, essential fatty acids, fiber, vitamins and minerals to keep her body healthy and strong. In 1999 the Food and Drug Administration approved a health claim for soy protein that states “25 grams of soy protein a day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease”. Soy can also help defend the body against breast cancer, osteoporosis and hot flashes.

Remember how your mom used to sneak healthy ingredients into your favorite foods as a kid? She’ll be proud to know you’re following her lead to make her day extra special. Watch this video to become the ultimate smoothie chef, then visit our recipe page to complete her breakfast menu.
